Bad Suns Transpose Listening To: Transpose by Bad SunsTranspose is a four-track EP by rising act Bad Suns. The EP contains delicious hooks and edgy pop undertones which only help each other in creating an EP that is indulgent yet still fun at the same time. This EP just lies right in the ballpark of people who love listening to music coming from an act such as The 1975. Catchy lyrics form the norm in this case. One can find the similarity in The 1975’s Chocolate while listening to Bad Suns’s Cardiac Arrest – both are melodic and are catchy as hell.

EP opener Cardiac Arrest strongly starts off the proceedings. Cardiac Arrest is vibrant – lying right in the middle of the border between pop and rock. Basically, it is suited for everyone’s tastes. More of the same comes with Transpose although yours truly just loves that intro so much. The guitar riffs are pleasant to the ears, I have to say. I do dig Salt albeit not as much as the other tracks in the EP. That “These memories are nothing to me just salt” line is glorious though.

Aside from the opener, one track that I could listen to over and over again would be the closer Twenty Years. The instrumentation in this track got me convinced that Bad Suns may just have something left up in their sleeves. This EP is a refreshing entry into the scene by Bad Suns. Yes, the EP is totally catchy. If you love to listen to edgy rock that has a lot of pop, this EP is the right one for you. I cannot wait for the release of the debut album and see how this band will mature right in front of our very own senses.

RATING: 4.5/5
